I love Ephesians 1. I love the blessing prayer that Paul prays for the Ephesians, his dear friends in the faith.
It is a prayer of thanksgiving. A blessing prayer for friends.
And wow have we been blessed in this area.
Our amazing support team that allows us to share life #behindtheprayercard.
Our #buggingyouteam, our churches, our families, our friends… we are daily thankful and blessed by YOU!
And so we pray this blessing prayer for you
“I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.”
We are praying that you will gain –
Wisdom – knowledge of what is true, the ability to discern what is true, right or lasting
Revelation – something revealed, a manifestation of divine will or truth
Enlightenment – gained spiritual insight
We want you to know truth. We want you to seek the truth. We want you to allow God to reveal Himself to you through His word. We want you to know the hope you have in Christ and understand that the God we serve is above compare!
I found an ending to this very special blessing prayer in Colossians 1:9-12.
“For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.”
As I pray these things for you, ask God to help you live a life worthy of the Lord and that you will strive to please Him in every way.
As you gain wisdom, revelation and become enlightened by the Word of God, put it into practice. Allow it to effect every area of your life.
Allow it to shine in your every day life, your parenting, your friendships, your marriage… Let God grow you in deeper ways!
Allow this blessing prayer to change your life and let it be something you pray over those around you as well!
