Greater joy sounds like an awesome goal.
But some of us have trouble finding real joy let alone finding an even greater joy.
We try to find joy at work or in ministry or in our kids or in social media. We fill our need for greater joy with things we think will make us happy.
But those things will fade.
I was reading in Psalm this week and it made me think about joy.
Where is joy found?
What is Biblical joy?
Who can have true joy?
Do I have that joy?
How do I get an even greater joy?
Psalm 4:6 says, “Many are asking, “Who can show us any good?”
Our world is asking us this question. We are asking ourselves this question.
And do you know what?
We have THE answer!
We know that true joy, greater joy is found in our loving Savior.
We have knowledge that can change the world.
We can have joy that makes us shine bright in a dark world.
The world around us WILL see our joy. And they will want to know how to find it.
They will ask. They will want to know how you can be joyful when you lose your job or when you are in a car accident or when you can’t pay the electric bill or when your mom finds out she has cancer. How can we find joy in those things? The world will watch and they will want to know.
Are we sharing it? Are we telling those around us where greater joy is found?
Are we modeling the joy, the good we have in Christ to those around us?
I guess an even bigger question would be are we living in that joy?
What a challenge to us. To live daily in greater joy so that we can be the ones to show the world the good that God brings to our lives.
That we can be the ones to show true, greater joy.
Love this beautiful post. Everyone is searching for JOY. I hear it daily. Joy is right there for everyone of us to grasp a hold of through God. Oh why do we complicate it so? Blessings friend.
I just saw where you do book reviews. I’d love to send you a couple of mine.
