God is enough. We know He is.
But sometimes we wonder if He truly IS enough when we face difficult times and heartbreaking seasons.
I’ve been dwelling on this question all week… I had a conversation with a friend and we discussed the thought that if everything else was gone, would God really be enough?
Is HE enough for us?
If our family was gone, if our support system was gone, if our friends were gone, if our church was gone…
If we were truly alone… would God be enough?
We would all like to answer yes to this question.
What a silly question, actually… of course, God is enough.
We are taught that since we first step in the doors of a church.
God will meet your needs.
God will supply.
God is enough.
With God all things are possible.
He will never leave you or forsake you.
Those are promises we cling to…
But, when you sit down and fully meditate on that question, can you answer it?
Sometimes it is hard to know the full strength of our commitment to Christ until it is tested.
And none of us want testing. ever.
So how can we answer that question?
By building our spiritual skills, exercising our spiritual muscles, practicing putting on our armor everyday, knowing the Word of Life, understanding the character of God, living in the spiritual disciplines of prayer, fasting and reading the Bible…
When we do those things, we are building a rock hard foundation that even testing can not blow away.
On that foundation, we can stand strong and say, “God is ENOUGH. He is ALL I need.”
Well, although I can’t tell you the specifics of this sweet note…
I can tell you that it declares that God is enough.

He is alive and moving and directing the steps of those who love Him.
I may not know the details, but God does.
I might get stuck on the seemingly impossible tasks ahead, but God is not stuck or confused or unsure.
He is working out the details, leveling the path as we continue to walk in obedience to His voice.
Let me tell you with all certainty that God is enough!
He is enough for me, for our situation and He is enough for you, for your situation.
I sing about this in the prayer room often, how God is my all in all, my portion, enough. And if that day were to ever come, where it’s just me and God, and all else is stripped away, I want to know that He is. Striving to be disciplined so that I will know Him more.
