We are always looking for fun date night ideas.
After 17 years of marriage, we still love to go on dates.
Remember my fairy tale day?
Yeah, I still LOVE to date this guy.
So, what fun date night ideas do we love?
1} Bike Rides! Amazingly enough, this anti-exercise girl enjoys a nice long bike ride with her hubby. I know. crazy, right? It gives us talk time and quiet time away from phones, computers, kids and the busyness of life. We can just be us and get exercise in the process. So nice. and so peaceful. We also love running together. Especially trails.
2} Shopping. Now this is not my ideal date. I’m married to a man who likes to shop. How did that happen when I’m not a big shopper? I don’t know… but he loves just browsing around looking for deals. We rarely buy anything but just going through stores together is a fun and actually very cheap date.
3} Dinner. My man loves to eat. He will eat anything and try anything. He loves to go to new restaurants and he especially loves a good restaurant coupon. I love eating out so this makes a fun date for both of us.
4} Movies. This is a rare date for us because there are so very few decent movies out these days. If I am going to watch a movie, it better be clean and good.
6} Picnic. We don’t do this as often as we should. But, there is something very romantic about a picnic! This date also goes very well with a bike ride.
7} Reading. Yes. Reading. We both enjoy reading. It is a quiet and peaceful way to spend a date. Sometimes, we actually read out loud together but usually we each have our own book and enjoy the downtime.
8} Cooking. It is not very often that I break out a recipe and cook an extravagant meal. Actually, the only time I do this is when Jeremy is cooking with me. He likes to make some wild recipes which makes for much fun and entertainment in our tiny kitchen. We’ve also taken cooking classes together which was a lot of fun!
9} Travel. We both love to travel. We love airports, flying, driving, experiencing new things and visiting great places. We have been known to drive to another city for a date. Lots of fun.
10} Lunch. I know I said dinner already, but lunch is pretty fun too. A few weeks ago we met at Wendy’s, just the two of us. He ate a free sandwich and fries and I ate a small chili. Super cheap but good quality time.
It takes work to carve out time when your busy with life and kids but it is so worth it!
